The Firefly Music Festival is happening from June 14th to the 17th this year at the Woodlands in Dover, Delaware. This will be the sixth year that the Music Festival is taking place in the state. Since it’s only a 45-minute drive away from Lewes, plenty of kids from Cape are going.

Big performers include Eminem, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Lil Wayne, Portugal. The Man (that’s how he styles his name), and Blackbear. “I would want to see Kendrick Lamar or SZA because I really like their music and feel like it would be really fun to listen to live with my friends,” Junior Lindsey Swontek said. The Delaware representative this year is Amillion the Poet.

Staying safe and healthy for four nights in the Dover woods can be hard, so some people are opting to buy single-day passes. Since kids at this school live so close to the festival grounds, most people are just getting hotels or driving back and forth from their homes. “I’m not going at night but I am driving back and forth for all four days,” Freshman Anna Patterson said.

Many people have fainted at these events due to starvation and hydration, so make sure to buy or pack as many snacks as you can, and drink as much water as possible. “I’m taking as much water as I can because I want to have fun and not pass out,” Patterson said.

Although many Cape kids are going, many are not. Even the kids at the school that aren’t going will still have the satisfaction of being 45 minutes away from their favorite artist!
