On May 6th, the official reveal trailer for Battlefield 1 was released to the world. The trailer was announced at a press conference from Dice, the developers of the Battlefield series.

For the new game, players will take a trip back in time to World War I. The new game features vehicles that were actually used in World War I, as well as horses! According to the developers of the game, there will be an entirely new layout for controls of some vehicles; meaning that the vehicles players get in will have unique controls for them. The game also features jeeps, planes, boats, and Zeppelins! “I’m really excited to fly the airplanes in this game,” said Junior Josh Dorofee.

The weapons in the game are also based from real weapons used during World War I. Players can choose from different types of guns such as “bolt-action rifles, automatic and semi-automatic rifles, artillery, flamethrowers, and mustard gas” (According to the developers from Dice). The developers have also reworked the melee system in the game. Players can now choose between “heavy and light” melee weapons. “I’m very excited to see how the developers will introduce this new melee system into the game,” said Junior Jack Coleman. There has been no word yet on how the “heavy and light” melee weapons will affect the gameplay, but it has been rumored to make the players run faster or slower and affect the force of the strikes.

All in all, the trailer was really good. Many Battlefield fans were excited to see the new game announcement and to finally see a refreshing setting for a first-person shooter that isn’t set in the future.
