Senior Abby E’Nama has committed to Juniata University, to play volleyball.

She has been playing volleyball since her freshmen year at Cape. Although she has a number of favorite memories,  her greatest volleyball memory is when, “we went four sets and beat Polytech. The fans were so great at the game. The atmosphere was on fire.”

At 6′ 1, she uses her height to her advantage. On the court, her heights allows for her to penetrate over the net, which results in many blocks and kills. Playing volleyball in college is an important to Abby, however, academics come first. Abby wants to become a lawyer in future and, with Juanita having a 100% acceptance into law school she feels that it is a perfect fit.

Juniata is located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, they compete at the division three level. They play in the Continental Conference for Volleyball and have won 35 conference championships in the past 35 years.

Abby picked Junaita because “The atmosphere is great. The balance between academics and athletics is really nice and I feel like I will be able to be really successful both on and off the court.”

Abby gives a lot of thanks to Mrs. Evick for all her help throughout the process, saying, “Mrs. Evick was a big support system for me ever since she was my coach freshman year. She has been someone I have really been able to go to with anything and she also went to Juniata, so when I was deciding she was a great person to have there for me. I am so grateful for all she has done for me on and off the court throughout my entire high school experience.”

Abby is very excited about finishing her senior year out strong. She looks forward to “all the senior traditions that the volleyball team has, as well as just having fun with all of my friends and family.”

This time next year Abby will be attending and playing volleyball at Juniata. All of her family and friends wish her success.
