The area of Lewes, DE has always lacked large entertainment venues, but there is now one on a previously undeveloped space adjacent to Dartmouth Plaza on Route 1 in Lewes. The venue is called Lefty’s Alley and Eats and it is the only one of its kind in the area.

The facility features 16 bowling lanes, an arcade with 50 to 70 games, a 4,000-square-foot, two-story laser tag arena, four 20-by-12-foot big screen televisions, a 110-seat restaurant and bar, and banquet options for customized events. The venue largely targets teens and young kids, while also providing options for older adults.

Many students from Cape have had the opportunity to go to Lefty’s already, and they have their own opinion regarding the business and its prices.

Sophomore Brian Gray does not want to go to Lefty’s again because he believes the prices are ridiculously expensive. Brian said, “Trying to bowl on the weekends is just crazy,” and he pointed out how the rates at one point are doubled. He said he does not recommend going to Lefty’s.

Junior Dylan Duran remarked that although Lefty’s is “decently expensive,” it was pretty fun. Besides saying Lefty’s was cool, Dylan did point out how expensive the arcade games and bowling are. Dylan did, however, recommend that students go there.

No matter the cost or things to do at Lefty’s, people in the Lewes area are very likely glad that there is finally this type of entertainment venue in the area.
